The Seine-Scheldt Network is taking part in the 4th North Sea–Rhine–Mediterranean Corridor Forum

At the invitation of Paweł Wojciechowski, coordinator for the North Sea–Rhine–Mediterranean Corridor (NSRM) at the European Commission, the fourth meeting of the NSRM Corridor Forum was held in Brussels on 22 June 2026. This biannual meeting brings together the main stakeholders of the corridor to take stock of the projects progress and to discuss about the prospects for the development of the trans-European transport network.

On this occasion, Gilles Ryckebusch, Regional Director for Nord–Pas-de-Calais at Voies navigables de France and Managing Director of Seine-Escaut EEIG, as well as Jérôme Dezobry, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe, presented the current progress of the Seine-Scheldt Network and its prospects for development. Their presentation highlighted the significant progresses already made on the network, the initiative supporting the green transition and as well as the expected benefits for the regions and economic stakeholders.

A particular attention was paid to the latest developments in the Seine-Nord Europe Canal construction projects, notably the construction of the Montmacq and Oisy-le-Verger locks.

This meeting thus once again demonstrated the strategic importance of the Seine-Scheldt Network within the North Sea–Rhine–Mediterranean corridor.
